Medicare Information
Our staff at Southwest Montana Aging and Disability Services are trained to help you with Medicare, whether it is explaining benefits or signing up for a Prescription Drug Plan or finding a Medicare Supplement. If, however, you would like to explore options on your own, here is some informaiton to help guide you along. Remember that we are always here to answer questions .

The official Medicare Website, contains a wealth of information about Medicare benefits and includes the
Medicare Part D Plan Finder where you can go to compare and enroll in Medicare Prescription Drug Plans.
The official Montana Commissioner of Securities and Exchange Website or State Auditor's Office. This site has some great information overall, but particularly for seniors. Just look on the right hand side of the home page and click on seniors. On the seniors page you will see, again on the right hand side, the Medicare Supplemental Guide and the Medicare Supplemental Rate Comparison Guide. These are wonderful publications to help you choose a Medicare Supplement.
Do you or someone you know need help with paying for a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan? At the Social Secuirty Website you can apply for the Low Income Subsidy. If a beneficiary meets the income and asset limits, they can enroll in a Prescription Drug Plan with lower or zero premiums, lower or no deductibles and lower co-pays for their drugs.
The Big Sky Rx program is a State Pharmacy Assistance Program that helps Medicare Beneficiaries with their Medicare Prescription Drug Plan premiums. Click this link for more information and to download an application.
